Traditionally, exercising an ITM call means paying the strike cost up front. Eruption flash-borrows the strike for you, exercises, sells the resulting underlying to repay the loan, and hands you the net profit. You never put capital at risk — if the exercise isn't profitable after fees, the whole tx reverts.
